At this time, with our world on the edge of ushering in the New Age – the Age of Aquarius – many articles and channeled messages tell us to ‘honor Mother Earth/Gaia-Sophia’. It may be for that reason that I feel this drive to honor my mother at this time as well.
A few weeks prior to her unexpected passing (at the young age of 52), she had printed out the following poem, which happens to be quite popular but one that, until that time, I had never read. So strange that she had printed this so near her time of passing, something I’ve contemplated for years since.
Nonetheless, I feel the need to share this with you today, in hopes that it speaks to you on some level, and that, when you’ve lived your final day on this Earth, it will be equally as applicable to your life as it was to her’s …
Don’t Grieve For Me
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free;
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss;
Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow;
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me;
God wanted me now, He set me free.
